How much does it cost each year?
Being a member of WSG Paragon costs
€ 40.00 per year. In principle, this pays for all events that we organize, with the exception of a few events that require extra payment.

When can I become a member?
You can become a member all year long. The only advantage there is to register at the beginning of period 1 is that the month of September is free and extra events are organized, so that the new members can be properly integrated.

Do I need to be a student?
No, anyone can join WSG Paragon. You don't even have to be a student at WUR.

Does Paragon have a fixed location?
WSG Paragon does not have a club house. The offline events are largely organized in the Forum building on the Campus.

What is the difference between us and Wageningen boardgamers?
WBG is purely focused on board games while Paragon only plays board games every two weeks. Paragon however hosts many other events, including DnD. Our membership is also slightly higher as we also organize larger events such as tournaments, excursions and pub quizzes. Lastly Paragon is a student association while WBG is not, this means the average age at Paragon is lower.

I've applied! What happens now?
First, welcome! You will soon receive a Whatsapp message from the secretary with i.a some starter information on the association, contribution payment, and an invite to our discord. Along with it comes an invite to our Paragon Whatsapp community in which we have subgroups per interest such as DnD, art, shooter games and more.

I want to cancel my membership, what now?
Sad to hear you want to cancel your membership. When you are a member of Paragon your membership is automatically extended. If you do not wish to continue to be a member of Paragon you need to fill in this form: https://forms.gle/qbjpo9HZCE44NzQs8. In this form you can also change your membership type.

What is the difference between us and Unitas?
Unitas and Paragon both have members interested in gaming and both host activities related to gaming. Unitas however also hosts tons of non-gaming related activities such as many parties. Paragon hosts mostly gaming related activities and does not really host parties. Paragon does not have their own location like Unitas and is thus quite a bit cheaper. Lastly Paragon does not have year clubs or companionships like Unitas does.
